Hi, I’m Bo.
I’m a 31-year-old husband, father, and Mexican Cuisine enthusiast from the Pacific Northwest. My favorite poem right now is Mary Oliver’s “Wild Geese”; the thought of “the world [offering] itself to [our] imagination” inspires me. Possibilities are everywhere, waiting for us to notice them. I find this to be true in all creative processes, especially when each party involved is allowed to share what’s been growing in their imaginations.
From teaching at a Title 1 school in Las Vegas to managing a nonprofit’s marcom efforts, I have an array of experiences and skills that make me an effective communicator.

Portfolio Guide
Nonprofit Marcom (page coming soon): I’m sort of a Swiss Army Knife for Journalistic Learning Initiative. In addition to creating a smorgasbord of content, I help produce professional development courses for educators and am constantly making changes to our website. Check out this new page I made.
Marketing Content: I ran all marketing initiatives for a tech start-up called Vilo Living. As the Content Manager, I led the charge on any and all content, be it video, copy, graphic, etc. I also ran Vilo’s social media accounts. From designing and printing marketing materials to creating email drip campaigns and sending weekly newsletters—I really did my best to do it all for Vilo.
Journalism: While I covered stories weekly for the Lynnwood Times, I primarily use this tab to showcase some of my video skills. I will say, even just from 2022, my videography skills have significantly improved. There are several technical skills I did not have when I filmed and edited together my pieces for the Lynnwood Times. But they showcase my storytelling competency nonetheless. I also won several awards from the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association during my time as a journalist.
Political Blog: During the lockdowns of 2020, I started my own blog: Consider This. I was very interested in taking a non-polarizing approach to analyzing political issues. Most recently, I used Consider This for school projects while I was pursuing my MA. I appreciate how Consider This highlights my abilities to think critically and research thoroughly. (I recently picked up blogging again. You can find my most recent posts here).
